This group is for both paid and volunteer historical interpreters and re-enactors of any North American time period up to the 1890's, as well as people who are interested in historical American culture. I've expanded the group to include pre-colonial and post revolutionary war eras, up to the turn of the 20th century, Native Americans, Civil War, etc. Share stories, anecdotes, insights, hints, suggestions, book or document suggestions, resources, patterns or plans, "reciepts" (recipes) and events. Pictures and drawings or artwork, as long as they are relevant, will also be accepted. I am looking for a network of people to share experiences and information, in hopes that we will all benefit and enjoy this part of our culture. Feel free to post funny, poignant or first-hand stories from your experiences, either as a visitor to a historical site, or as an interpreter. A good exchange of ideas, information, and sources, as well as your experience, both serious and humorous, is the goal. If you give historical information, please list valid sources. Otherwise, let's have fun!
